CONFEDERATE PERCUSSION CONVERSION WATERS U.S. MODEL 1836 PISTOL DATED 1843. .54 caliber smoothbore pistol with 8 ½” barrel stamped at breech “U.S./NWP/P”. Stamped on lock “A.WATERS/MILBURY,MS./1943”. All original and in very good condition. Unidentified conversion with very CSA looking bolster and hammer. Brass trigger guard plate, trigger and side plate. Many different gunsmith firms in the South converted thousands of flintlock pistols, rifles and muskets for the Confederacy in the early part of the Civil War.
