A beautiful exampe of a "Golden Age"  Long Rifle. Beyer  from Dauphin county Pa. made guns from the close of the  Revolutionary War until circa 1815. There is much info on him in Kendigs book on Kentucky rifles. This piece is decorated with incised  and relief stock carving. The patch box is a work of art as are the many inlays. Rifle was at one time in the Herman Dean collection and in 2005 won " Best Carved Rifle" award from the Kentucky Rifle Assoc.
