#87293, Sako 243 Winchester Forester Model Pre-1972 Rifle with Their Medium L579 Action with the Dovetailed Flats on the Receiver Ring and Bridge, Made in 1969, 23" barrel with a front ramp, Front sight hood, Leupold 2.5 x 8 Vari-X 3i, Burris Bases & rings, Sliding safety on the right side of the receiver tang, Factory trigger that has a great let-off, Hinged floorplate with a frontal release, Sporter stock with a monte carlo comb, Cheekpiece, Point pattern checkering, Sling swivels on the stock, 14" LOP over a 1" pad, 8 lbs. 2 oz. with the scope, The original barrel blue remains at 98%, The receiver blue is at 100%, The floorplate and trigger guard are at 99%, The original stock finish at 94%, The checkering remains at 100%, The bore is excellent plus. This gun was imported by Firearms International Corp. in Washington D. C. Can you imagine a gun store in that sewer today?
Sako was first advertised in the American Rifleman by Firearms International in 1949 and were priced at $117.50 and a barreled action for $89.50. At the same time the Winchester Model 43 was $60, and the Remington Model 722 was about $90.
