*Sale Pending* Holland & Holland Best Sidelock Assisted Opening Ejector, 12 bore, 6 lbs. 6 oz., ejectors, 2 1/2" chambers, original 30" damascus steel barrels choked .003 Skt and .035 Full, 1 1/8 oz. nitro proof, sunken game rib engraved "Holland & Holland 98 New Bond Street, London" and "Winners Of All The Field Rifle Trials, London 1883", assisted opening bar action sidelock rose and scroll engraved with "Holland & Holland" on sides and "The Royal, Patent Safety, Hammerless" on bottom, top lever engraved "Holland & Holland Patent No. 23", the action breech face is engraved "Pat Gas Checks No. 3380", top tang safety with "Safe" in gold inlay, 14 3/8" LOP over a checkered butt, 1 1/2" DAC, 2 5/16" DAH, 3/16" cast off for RH shooter, vacant gold oval, double triggers, straight grip, splinter forend, drop points. Excellent condition gun with excellent very clean bores, bores measure .736 right and .738 left and min. wall thickness .022 right and .020 left, excellent barrel brown finish, engraving is sharp, barrels are in proof and on face with just a hint of looseness with the forend off and very tight with it on, only very minor handling marks on wood. All in all, an excellent and very shootable pre-turn of the century Royal at a reasonable price.
