Description:
An 1858 dated, British Tower carbine issued to the Australian native police. This native police force consisted of Aboriginal natives with one white officer. The native police were charged with protecting the British Colonial frontier of Australia. This percussion gun features a captured swivel ramrod, brass mounts, walnut stock and sling swivels. The left side of the gun has a saddle ring and bar, and several markings on the barrel, near the breech. The right side of the lock plate is stamped with a crown over ”VR” (Victoria Regina), and “1858 // TOWER”.

Condition: Iron parts have a medium grey/brown age patina – Brass parts retain a light mustard color age patina – Stock has several small marks – Action is crisp – Bore has some minor pitting.
