Description:
Winchester Model of 1873 3RD Model Special Order Sporting Rifle with Factory 30 inch Barrel and Set Trigger. The serial number of this example is 4279XX placing date of manufacture in 1891. Overall condition is fine with this rifle retaining approx. 75-80% of the original untouched factory finish just starting to tone. The bore is good and shootable with all rifling present. The bore will rate a 7 on a 1 to 10 scale with leading. The brass Follower is unpolished with a very nice mustard marbled patina. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. The set trigger is mechanically sound. Wood to metal fit is perfect with the normal hits and handling marks.
