Description:
General Specs: Parker, Year 1927, 12ga, 7lbs8oz, Chokes M/F, LOP 14 1/8", DAH 2 3/4", DAC 1 9/16"
Serial Number: 222908

Bird season is fast approaching, the pheasants are cackling, and waterfowl are gathering their broods for a flight south.  Time for a new Parker for your upcoming season, but how to choose?  To be sure, more than price should influence your decision.  You want a gun that will serve your needs, function properly without letting you down, and a gun that looks good and makes you proud.  Before you spend hard earned cash you should know the details like stock dimensions, barrel wall thickness, and other specifications that will make sure the gun will fit your needs and be a good investment that will grow in value as you enjoy its use.  This fine Parker, sn222908 made in 1927, is a very rare find in that it is “as found” and retains 93% factory blue, 65% factory vivid case color, perfect screws, perfect wood-to-metal fit, barrels tight on breech face and hinge pin, no cracks or repairs to the wood, still showing remnants of cross-hatching on the breech end of the barrels…just a perfect example of a fine Parker PH in high condition.  This 12ga. gun is built on the smaller 1 ½ frame and weighs 7 1/2lbs and balances perfectly ¼” ahead of the hinge pin.  Most Parker PH Grade guns had twist steel barrels (11,107 produced) but only a few were built with PARKER STEEL barrels (839 total made, only 375 with 30” barrels).  The 30” barrels have not been altered since leaving the factory with factory bore diameters, tight ribs, M/F chokes, and excellent shiny bores.  Examine the details closely and you will notice the perfect wood to metal fit, superb factory checkering, original dogs head buttplate, good shooting dimensions, factory original bore diameter and wall thicknesses, all setting it apart from the others.  Additionally, this is a “VFI CERTIFIED” gun, meaning it has been stripped to its smallest parts, cleaned in our Ultrasonic Cleaner, all parts inspected for function and soundness, lubricated properly, and re-assembled (a $275 service value).  The VFI CERTIFIED GUNS have a 90-day mechanical warranty and will need no additional maintenance for decades to come.  The PH Grade Parker was the first grade with a moderate amount of scroll engraving, a bit finer wood than their VH Grade, yet remained affordable.  Please note that the flash photography accentuates the “patina spotting”.  In person the spotting you see in the photos is faint and barely noticeable.  This is a very nice conditioned, very low production numbers gun, with ORIGINAL FACTORY FINISHES IN ALL WAYS, a gun that is very had to find in today’s world.  A finer Parker bird gun you will not find at this price.  With RST spreader loads this gun will shoot IC/M patterns, making her a perfect sporting clays gun as well.  Thanks for looking, and you should take this Parker for a hunt!
