Extremely Early 3 digit Nimschke Shop Engraved Colt Single Action Army converted from rimfire to centerfire. This is an absolute stunner for Wild West and Single Action collectors, the only way it could get better, (in my opinion) is if this was still in original rimfire configuration, however that would give it a much heftier price tag. This gun is the absolute definition of the Wild West and screams it. This gun bearing serial number 853. The Revolver is period converted from rimfire to centerfire with the cylinder being a period replacement. The ivory grips display and compliment the overall appearance of the Colt extremely well and are no doubt original grips added likely when it was engraved. This Colt was undoubtably engraved by the Nimschke Shop in New York as it has the key characteristics of a Nimschke gun with finer quality then most New York engravers. Mechanically appears to function well. This is an absolute cool time capsule of what was carried back in those days and to find any SAA under serial number 1000 is virtually impossible, let alone an engraved example.
