SOLD....REDUCED PRICE !!!! Antique Colt Thuer derringer. This is the more rare and desirable early 3rd model 2nd variation that has the high hammer spur and tighter grip curl. S/N 10188 and all matching on barrel, frame under the left grip and both grips.. All original and never messed with. Standard 2 1/2" barrel and in .41 caliber rim fire of course. This little gun has a lot of original nickel plating. The barrel has about 85% to 90%... Just missing a little on the left side of the barrel as you can see.. The frame has about 75% including the front and rear grip straps. Excellent markings. Excellent mechanics. Crisp and tight as a new gun.. Both hammer notches are perfect and positive. Has a tiny ding on the rear of the barrel from improper closing of the barrel with the hammer in the down position. This is very common on this model and usually most all have this ding.. Nothing bad or detracting as you can see in the photos. The grips are very nice showing some slight shrinkage and wear. A couple traces of original varnish remain. There is a small nick on the bottom right side as you can see in the photo but no other chips or cracks. The grips are matching as mentioned above. The bore is good with strong rifling but has some pitting as usual. Not shot out or pitted out like so many of these little derringers are. Full front sight never filed on or messed with. This is a very nice example of this very popular Colt derringer and the harder to find model being the 2nd variation with high hammer and tight grip curl. All of this model are antique and all made before 1898 unlike the later 3rd models that were still being made into the early 1900's.. Nice and tight little gun at a reasonable price.
