16 gauge, 2-3/4". NSN. Retailed by J. C. Higgins this is the same basic gun as the Fox Model B shotguns mfg. By Savage. 28" vent rib bbls. with fixed M&F chokes. Aluminum front & mid beads. Case colored boxlock action features a gold anodized single non selective trigger & extractors.. Left side is marked "J. C. HIGGINS-MODEL 101.540/SEARS ROEBUCK & COMPANY." Right side is marked "MODEL 311A." Hand checkered black walnut beavertail forend & pistol grip stock with originaal buttplate. Weight 7 lbs, 2.4 ozs. Exceptionally nice all original condition retaining over 98% blue & case colored metal finish. Wood finish shows a few small marks. Sound mechanics. Bright near excellent bores.
