Description:
Very rare Hopkins & Allen low serial #8, in 22 RF, 2 1/4" round barrel with a moderately oxidized bore. The metal surfaces of this tiny pistol retain about 90% nickel finish showing some scattered areas of light flaking toning to a dark brown patina, a few pinprick pits and tiny dings, and also made without a front sight. The barrel markings are still entirely intact and legible. The smooth rosewood grips remain in very good plus condition showing a couple tiny chips along the edges, light handling marks and worn finish; the grip screw head shows moderate slot wear. Barrel lock-up shows a little bit of play and the hammer seems to function well mechanically. A solid example of these interesting little pistol with only about 1500 produced. This small istol fits in the palm or your hand. Top of barrel staytes VEST POCKET. This is antique unless your state considers it modern like PA!
