Ithaca Classic Double chambered for 20 GA shells with 28 inch barrels bright bore and a 14 inch LOP. In the 1990’s Steve Lamboy resurrected the Ithaca NID double shotgun under the banner name “Ithaca Classic Doubles”. From my understanding Mr. Lamboy had the rights to the patents and design of the original Ithaca guns and faithfully reproduced the guns as “reproductions” using modern machining technologies and materials. Much of the work was contracted through the Italian firm Mario Beschi. The guns are faithful to the original Ithaca NID in engraving and checkering patterns and the NID design was brutishly strong and reliable. Unfortunately the company did not survive and the Ithaca Classic Double production ceased around 2003. There were many guns in the production line at the time and those guns were completed and imported by various prominent gun dealers. This particular gun was imported by the late great Thad Scott. These are very well made guns and hand engraved to perfection. They represent the best bargain on a fine American designed double available today in my humble opinion. This gun is in excellent condition and is covered by Dury's Lifetime Warranty.
