This is an attractive gun that has an overall mottled plum-brown patina with even spots of dark freckling, and scattered minor handling marks and surface blemishes throughout. Especially noticeable along the flared barrel which also has a small, stable crack at the muzzle. The lock has a nearly matching freckled plum-brown patina, but also has visible traces of original color case-hardening around the edges. The lock itself is still very tight and functions flawlessly. The iron trigger guard has further spots of freckling with an overall gray-brown patina throughout. The walnut stock has numerous small handling marks and blemishes throughout the old oil finish, along with diagonal cracks on either side of the forend, and some chips at the forend pins. A period, iron ramrod is included, but does appear to be original. This is a great looking blunderbuss and would make a great decorative or accent piece.
