Description:
Winchester Model of 1873 "First Model" "Raised Thumbprint" with Factory 28" Octagon Barrel and Single Set Trigger. This rifle also has the early "Semi-Cloverleaf" Rear Sight with checkered sides. The Tang Sight is a later style "Graduated Peep Sight" graduated to 55 minutes. All the bells and buzzers! Overall condition is very good with most of the finish toned to a very nice even patina with Barrel and Magazine toned to a blue / plum patina. The bore is near perfect. Bright and shiny from breech to muzzle void of any damage. The rifling is strong and will rate a 9.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect! The untouched brass follower has retained a very nice mustard patina. Wood to metal fit is perfect with a small sliver missing at the right side of the Forearm.
