Description:
A very good example of an 1885 model, double breasted, “ulster” style wool dress overcoat. It is from the U.S. Indian Wars era, and is all original. The coat belonged to a Full Colonel, as indicated by the number of flat silk braids in the quatrifoils of each sleeve. The front closure is a frog & toggle style. It has a slot in the left side, for the sword to be worn on the outside of the coat. There is also an interior breast pocket and two large flapped pockets on the outside, one on each side.
