Scarce Early Japanese Type 18 11mm Japanese Centerfire Infantry Rifle. Type 18 were made from 1885 to March 1889. This Type 18 is circa 1885. All Type 18’s was made by the Koishikawa arsenal (Tokyo). The barrel and receiver retain nearly all their original blue finish. The Trigger guard and bands are brown patina. All markings, including the mum, are sharp and clear. Stock is very good with no cracks or chips. Cleaning rod is absent. Swivels and sights are present and correct. The 32 3/16” Round barrel has a good bore with strong and sharp rifling. Action works correctly. This is one of the nicest Type 18 rifles you will ever see.
