"U.S. Model 1842 Percussion Pistol by H. Aston, Middtown Conn. Lock dated 1847. Stock has excellent cartouches. Barrel marked U.S. and 1847 date on trench plug tang match the 1847 on lock. The action works perfectly. Barrel and lock have a smooth very pleasing patina. The butt cap has numerous surface dents which could be improved or removed by a good gunsmith. Pistol has the original captive ramrod. Stock is good plus with no chips or cracks.
