Description:
This Winchester was produced in 1946. The shotgun's serial number is 1018679. It is fitted with a 20 inch 12 gauge cylinder choked barrel. The barrel also is fitted with a ventilated hand guard with the bayonet attachment. The receiver is marked U.S. with the ordnance bomb on the right side below the ejection port. The barrel is also marked with the ordnance bomb on the top of the barrel in front of the Winchester proof mark. The stock is marked on the left side mid way with the G.H.D. in a box with the ordnance wheel. This Winchester has not been altered or is a put together. The bore is bright with no issues. The original bluing is very strong with no fading or pitting. The bluing would rate a strong 97% overall condition. This shotgun has seen very little use or wear. There is some scratches on the stock. There is no dents or cracks with the wood stock or pump handle. The wood has almost all of the original finish intact. The butt plate is original to the stock and has no damage or chips. The action locks up tight like a new gun. The ventilated hand guard has no dents or damage to the stamped metal. This shotgun is in near unissued condition just having some slight use and wear. These trench guns are quite difficult to find! Most of the trench guns made, were the model 1897 Winchesters. The Winchester model 12 trench guns are fairly rare as few of them were made. To find one in this fine of condition is a real prize! Included with this Winchester is a unissued Winchester bayonet with it's leather scabbard. These unissued bayonets are another thing that is getting hard to find, especially with it's scabbard. This bayonet locks up very nicely on the bayonet lug! This is a great way to display this shotgun with that original bayonet! Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
