Description:
Here's a fantastic large and dangerous game rifle ready for Alaska or Africa. It's a Pre 64 Winchester 70 in the powerful .375 H&H Mag caliber. The custom and superb quality stock was made by McMillan and it features their most durable molded-in, marbled finish. It was precisely fitted to this barreled action by Hill Country Rifles. They did an incredible job! S/N is 334*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1955. The Barrel is 25" with an excellent bore. All mechanical functions are of course smooth and working properly as well. Blue is very good, about 95% overall. Stock remains virtually new with a soft and perfectly fitted Pachmayr Decelerator pad. For well over 100 years, when it comes to reliable feeding when it matters most, magazine capacity, manageable recoil, along with devastating killing power, the 375 H&H has absolutely no even remotely close peer, especially when fired from a Pre 64 Winchester 70! It is also the base cartridge case for nearly every other popular Magnum caliber ever created. African game guides, professional hunters, and dangerous game cullers have repeatedly voted the .375 H&H as their clear preference for an all-round caliber if they could have only one rifle. Alaskan game guides have expressed a similar preference for brown bear and polar bear country. It has been my caliber of choice during most of my 35-year guiding career, delivering jaw-dropping performance time and again. Just an unbeatable set-up.
