Description:
UPDATED*****Highly unusual Over-Under hammer double rifle by J.B. Schmidt of Landau.  The gun, a Jones Underlever Over Under hammer gun in .45-70 cal with capped pistol grip buttstock and full sized forend with checkering pattern that makes it feel like a 3 piece forend.  Buttstock made with capped pistol grip and horn Buttplate.  The butt has been repaired throught he wrist.  Action is scroll engraved with finely made serpentine hammers.  Steel barrels with flat top rib inscribed with makers name.  Buttstock with cartridge trap at toe and fancy carved grip cap.

Overall, this is an unusual gun and a very early Over/Under hammer rifle in an American caliber.  We can only surmise the gun was made for the American Market and likely used in the American West for Buffalo as the gun was likely made in the late 1870's. The gun is in nice original condition with the barrels retaining most of an ancient restored blue with excellent bores.  The stocks with repair through the wrist retain most of an older restored finish and are now sound.  Action is bright with engraving not showing much wear.

This gun is priced at $4250 shipped to your door.  Please dont hesitate to contact me with any questions or reasonable offers at (704) 280-2382 or via PM on this site.
