This Birmingham Gun maker "Westwood" was in business from the mid-1820s to around 1845. He was known for making good quality Flintlock pistols, likely for the Hudson Bay Company, that were traded to the Indigenous Indians in exchange for fur pelts that were eagerly desired in the European Fashion Trade. The Hudson Bay Company was founded in May of 1670 primarily serving in the fur trading industry in its early years and has continued for 350 years to present day in London, England. This pistol was designed to make massive holes in things. This pistol would have been a horse carried pistol or perhaps even worn on a belt. The overall condition is good. The lock reads “WESTWOOD” and is lightly engraved with floral designs. “LONDON” is stamped atop the barrel with Birmingham proof marks. The action is strong and tight. The bore is smooth and dark. This example is quite hardy. A fantastic British flintlock pistol from the early-19th Century! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 9 inches. Caliber: .61 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail!
