This is a very nice U.S. Military Quality Hardware M1 Carbine made in 1944 during WW2. It has gone thru a U.S. Arsenal inspection/overhaul at some point post WW2 or during Korea, but retains it's proper IBM barrel and has been restored to almost entirely original with Quality Hardware parts. The flat bolt, operating handle, trigger housing, trigger, sear, hammer, and stock set are all original WW2 production Quality Hardware parts. As you can see from the pictures, this M1 carbine is a very good looking weapon with the U.S. arsenal parkerized finish in very good condition overall. The gun shows a consistent level of wear on all of the exposed parts and a very uniform patina. The bore in this carbine is excellent, mirror-bright with sharp rifling throughout the barrel. There is no pitting, erosion, or imperfections visible.The original stock set is really exceptional on this Quality Hardware M1 Carbine, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage to the exterior. The buttstock is nicely marked with "Q-RMC" in the sling well of the buttstock, and inside the hand guard. There is no U.S. Arsenal rework stamp or circle "P" on the stock. All of the stock hardware is intact and in great shape, including the recoil plate and steel buttplate. The action on this M1 Carbine is slick and precise, locking into battery smoothly and without any slop in the bolt. All of the controls are in perfect working order, including the adjustible rear sight and push safety. This Quality Hardware M1 Carbine should be an excellent shooter in addition to being an excellent investment.
