Winchesters Model of 1894 Sporting Rifle "First Model" with 10 O'Clock Screw, .38-55wcf. The serial number of this example is 822 placing date of manufacture in 1894, probably the first two weeks! Overall condition is very good with most of the untouched factory finished toned to a very nice even bronze patina. The bore is way above average with strong rifling and shine from breech to muzzle. The bore will rate an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect, needs to be oiled, little dry.
