Description:
Winchesters Model of 1873 Lever Action Sporting Rifle .22 Short with very early "Take Down Feature". The serial number of this example is 156040 placing date of manufacture in 1889. Overall condition is very good with the original untouched factory finish toned to an even patina. The bore is way above average for a small caliber Winchester. The bore has sharp rifling and is void of fouling. I would place the bores condition a 7 on a 1 to 10 scale. Rear sight needs replaced. Wood to metal fit is perfect with 90% of the original factory varnish remaining. The "Dust Cover" is to tight for my taste, easily remedied. very Rare Collectible.
