Winchesters Model of 1876 Lever Action Sporting Rifle .45-60wcf. with factory 28 inch Octagon Barrel. The serial number of this example is 1768X placing date of manufacture in 1881. Overall condition is very good with most of the original untouched factory finish toned to a very nice even patina. The bore is above average. The rifling is strong with shine remaining. The bore will rate an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. The brass follower is unpolished and the action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect with a very small sliver missing at the left lower tang. Very nice untouched early second model.
