Description:

Quite a few different names for these guns such as a Parlor or Pub Rifle. Believe it or not, target shooting, especially close range indoor target shooting, was very popular in Europe. It would be like going to a bar today and throwing darts as competition. What they used was quite elaborate rifles that normally shot a very small 4mm rimfire cartridge or a percussion cap that propelled a bb or what we call a pellet today.
This one is set up for shooting a bb or pellet and would be powered by a percussion cap. As with nearly all these guns, only the front portion is actually the bbl. This one is a 6 inch octagon barrel and is marked "A G W" very small and stamped towards the frame of this gun. Quite a bit of finish remains with wear. Some scratch marks on the side of the barrel and throughout including the wood. Double set trigger that works. Protected very fine post front sight, simple groove style rear sight and the base for an aperture sight. Interesting gun.
