This is possibly the finast example of a vintage (1961 M date code) Savage 99 Featherweight we have ever had or seen. It has come to us from a friend who is a serious collector. It is so near to being in perfect conditon that we are dscribing it as 95%. The ser # is a little over 1m for you Savage collectors. Not only are Savage 99 F's among the most desriable and attractive of the many, many iterations that brilliant Arthur Savage brought to the hunting and shooting world but this gun being a farily late production has what are to us the most desiraable features: while retaining the classic brass counter it has the more modern and more user friendly tang safety and cocking indicator. The handsom American Walnut stock set retains virtually all of the original fiinsh with perfeclty executed bold sharp factory checkering and correct steel butt plate. There is almost no carry wear to underside of receiver. If there are any flaws of consequence we have overlooked them. Missing even safe marks mostly.
It comes with a quality Unertl 2 3/4 power scope in factory mouting holes (the company that made Viet Era Sniper Scope) together making a Classic New England Deer rifle that would be at home in the woods anywhere.
