Description:
18th Century WESTERN EUROPEAN Horse Pistol

Dragoon, Cavalry, Military Sidearm

Here we present an antique Western European Horse Pistol, made circa the 18th century. The previous owner attributed this pistols origin to Bohemia. This attractive handgun started out life as a flintlock in the mid-1700s and was given an update when the new technology of the percussion firing system came out. This was made to be carried in a pommel holster on a horse and may have even had a mate at one time. This example features brass hardware and engravings on the pommel and trigger guard. The stock slopes gently down at the grip. Carved in pommel was made for better purchase and as a blunt force weapon, with a small brass cap. Ivory tip on the stock and a horn tip on the rammer.

The overall condition is Very Good. The action is as strong as ever. The bore is dark and dusty with age. This pistol was made for the professional and is all business.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 9-1/4 inches.

Caliber: .55

Overall condition as seen in photos.
