Winchesters Model of 1873 Sporting Rifle .44-40, Special Order Factory 26 inch Extra Heavy Barrel, Single Set Trigger, Thumb Print Dust Cover and "Rocky Mountain" Front Sight with Ivory Blade. This Special Order Rifle is an early "Second Model" This is actually a very rare Second Model with all the early features including the pinned Trigger as the First Models had. Overall condition is very good with the original untouched factory finish toned to a gorgeous bronze patina. The bore is exceptional bright and shiny from breech to muzzle void of any damage. The rifling is strong and will rate a 9.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect with some hits dings and slivers missing, not bad though. Letters with Cody Museum. Very rare investment quality 1873 collectible.
