Description:
1951 Winchester Model 42 Skeet 410ga in excellent condition with RARE, unmolested 2 1/2" chamber, 28" vent rib barrel, Skeet choke, LOP 14", 13 5/16” to beginning of a stock extension. Butt-plate fits nicely over extension, indicating stock may have been cut for recoil pad then brought back to original plate and length. Custom grip cap reads "J. T. Turner - Houston Skeet Shooter's Association - 1948". J. T. Turner was once the President of the Texas Skeet Shooter's Association. Model 42 experts on shotgunworld believe this is most likely an early Simmons marketed gun, rather than a plain 2 1/2" barrel skeet gun that came out of the Winchester factory and was later sent to Simmons for vent rib installation . Vent rib reads "Simmons Gun Specialties". Serial number 87364. Take down adjustment sleeve in “1” position, showing little takedown use. A 3” shell will not fit in the chamber (see picture). End of barrel (choke section) ID measures approximately .0398” using caliper. Must ship to FFL dealer in your state. Please ensure your FFL Dealer accepts shipments from individuals, otherwise, Buyer will have to pay extra to have the item shipped by my FFL.
