The ‘Eagle Head” sword was popularized during the American Revolutionary War and was one of the signature weapons of the young United States through the War of 1812 and into the 1830s. This sword features a 28” curved blade and an overall length of 34 inches. It features gold accented etching, silver plated hilt, ribbed horn grip, and “13” in marker on the suspension band of the sheath. There is a mix of dark brown/gray patina, pitting, and lighter gray patina on the blade along with some edge wear, dark aged patina and traces of silver on the hilt, and mild wear on the grip. The overall condition is good. There is a break in the connection of the handguard. The blade is in good shape. The leather scabbard is sound. The throat of the scabbard is absent. Own the original!
