Andrew Baker is listed as making firearms in various Pennsylvania locations from 1807 to the 1880's. Number of reasons for shortening. First would be Native American use. Next would be CSA cavalry use. Condition: bore is of no consequence to the value of this firearm, metal shows dark with use dings, barrel has English proofs and may be older tyhan the rest of the firearm, striped stock has an added layer of finish applied, mechanically very good, very good marks.
