Civil War 5th Model Burnside Carbine .54 caliber carbine. The .54 caliber percussion breech-loading Burnside carbine was one of the most widely used Union carbine. There is approximately 95% blue with scatted freckling. The case colors on the action are medium to strong. The bore is good with roughness toward the muzzle. The stocks are fine with no cracks or chips and two strong inspectors cartouches. The action functions properly. Overall, this is a much better than average Burnside carbine.
