British 3rd Pattern issued Brown Bess .75 caliber musket. Infantry musket with 39" round .75 caliber smooth bore barrel with good bore. Metal is smooth mixture of bright and dark patina. Stock is good with issue dents and dings. There is a 1" ding on the right wrist. Stock has multiple small worm holes. “BGS" is stamped on the left flat above the rear trigger guard bow. Cleaning rod is a replacement and three stock pins and the rear swivel are absent. The lock is nicely marked with strong edge lines, tower to the rear, crown / GR to the center, and crown/ broad arrow to the right. Action functions correctly. This is a good example of the 3rd model Brown Bess which is very hard to find at this price.
