New items added daily! Description: This is a scarce all-phosphate Mauser P.38 made in 1944. The pistol is 'byf 44' coded, and all matching with all original parts. Phosphate finishes are hard to grade, as they don't show wear like most other blued pistols. The finish has some discoloration in a few areas of the slide, along with some slide edge wear and light muzzle wear. The barrel (especially on the top-down view) has some spotty discoloration and browning on the finish. There is light surface wear on the front strap as well as the frame. The bore, on the other hand, is excellent and very shiny with strong rifling. Only a very small portion of the phosphate finished P.38s from the era have all phosphate slide/frame/barrel.
