MAUSER MODEL 98 SNIPER RIFLE MFG 1943
SERIAL 40567. BARREL 24". CALIBER 7.92 X 57MM. The chamber has the byf 43 factory code for Mauser-Werke AG, Oberndorf a./N. Matching numbers on frame, bolt, safety, bolt release, rear bolt shroud, floor plate, trigger guard, front band with no import stamps.
Right side of stock has large waffenampt stamp WaA13 will small stamp under wrist. Nazi eagle stamp on frame and barrel. Very good walnut stock. Has period leather sling and cleaning rod with hooded front sight.
Rifle sports a ZF-41 scope that is stamped dow. Mount is stamped duv (Berlin-Luebecker Maschinenfabriken, Werk Luebeck) and ZF41/1. The scope is a Czech made Opticotechna G.m.b.H., Prerau.
Condition:
Excellent overall with all the correct Imperial German Ordnance inspection stamps. Retains most of the original blue finish with light use. Stock and matching handguard with all the original finish and with German Ordnance stamps on the right side of the butt stock. Stock and butt plate serial numbered to the gun. About the only flaw is a small hairline crack on top of wrist that will be an easy fix. Great bore and action. Solid 90% plus arsenal blue finish.
