"Mauser Model 1896 7.63mm Caliber Mauser Cone Hammer. This very fine Cone Hammer has approximately 95% blue. Sight is 1 to 10 graduations. Numbers all match. Grips are excellent. Bore has worn rifling and is there but faint. Action works perfectly. The Cone Hammer variation was the first number style and has cone shaped projections on each side for grasping. A much sought after early Mauser! Note: the top of the barrel is marked in fine script, “Sold by John Rigby & Co. 72 St. James St. London. Several British dealers would mark the Mausers with their company name and addresses!
