Description:
A 12 yr old authentic reproduction of J Henry Contract Trade Rifle American Pattern. 52 cal., Dbl set triggers, 1:72 twist, 40" x 1" barrel thats been coned at the muzzle for quick loading(no short starter needed). Barrel made by Longhammock, lock by L&R. Total weight is 10 lbs.
This is a copy of an original in the Museum of the Fur Trade in Chadron, NE. THIS is the rifle the fur trappers carried more than any other style/make! When you hired on to a fur company in St. Louis, this was most likely what was given to you due to the running contract the major fur companies had with gun builders like J. J. Henry. It has aged well and shows a nice patina and has won its share of rendezvous shooting matches.
Also included is a Rapine .520 round ball mold.
