These early M&P revolvers are not seen very often now and this one is interesting because of the finish and round butt. The 1905 1st Change does NOT have the two guide pins under the star extractor that the 2nd. Change has. A minor point, but interesting as both were manufactured during the same three year time period. This example retains nice case color on the trigger sides and good color on the hammer. Nearly all the bright factory nickel finish remains with only a few small spots of peeling/freckling on the left side of the barrel and a tiny spot in the logo on the right side of the frame with similar tiny peels at the very front edge sharp points on the cylinder. Even the grip straps and butt retain bright nickel. Sharp markings and matching serial numbers on the frame, barrel and cylinder. The deep set brass medallion checkered walnut grips fit perfectly, but the number stamped in side one grip is a higher number than the rest of the revolver- odd as they fit so perfectly. Exc. mechanically, fine+ bore shows a few small light surface spots of frost- minor and might brush out. Fantastic turn-of-the-last-century hand fitting and craftsmanship!
