Description:
EARLY, ANTIQUE SERIAL NUMBER 1892 .38-40 OCTAGON RIFLE, #29XXX, MADE 1894. This one has an attractive appearance with an uncleaned very aged blue/brown patina overall- barrel, mag tube, forend cap and receiver. The bolt and loading gate retain fine blue. Original buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact and Winchester blade front sight. Good markings and tight mechanically. Fine+ forend and butt stock with tight wood to metal fit. The left side of the butt stock has the initials “F.M.” neatly scratched in- just part of the history of this 126 year old Winchester. The bore is a little dark with fine rifling all the way through and only some light, scattered surface roughness. Nice early 1892 that came out of Arizona.
