Made in 1982, 70 Series Colt Government Model 1911 Special Edition made to commemorate the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The pistol is fitted with a 5 inch barrel, fixed sights, smooth Colt Custom Rosewood grips, serrated arched main spring housing, is blue finished, and chambered in .45 ACP. Markings: The right side of the slide has gold inlay scroll engraving with an Officer standing next to a cruiser, police Helicopter, and the Seal for the County of Los Angeles. The right side of the frame is marked “COLTS PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A. / 70B15012”. The right side of the trigger guard is marked “5”. The left side of the slide is marked “LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT SPECIAL EDITION” along with a bit of gold scroll engraving and a nice border. The floorplate of the magazine is marked “COLT / 45 AUTO M”. The exposed portion of the barrel is marked “COLT .45 AUTO / MK. IV/SERIES ‘70”. The pistol is as new/unfired and comes with its original Oak presentation case. Sorry, no other shipping box or paper-work.
