Custom 257 Weatherby magnum by Harry McGowen.Built in 1957 on a 98 Mauser action,the rifle is signed under the barrel "Harry McGowen May 1957".Built before McGowen went into the barrel business full time.This rifle has a 22" barrel with a mint bore.It has a tiger striped walnut thumbhole stock with rosewood forend tip and grip cap.The rifle is in like new condition retaining 99% of the blue and 100% of the wood finish.Features include double set triggers,a butter knife bolt handle,an original leather sling,and a Pachmayr Old English solid pad.The rifle has a Pentax 4x16x50 scope installed.A great flat shooting rifle for out west or a big beanfield rifle for back east.C&R eligible.
