Description:
Merkel 2001EL O/U shotgun. Gorgeous little 28 gauge with 28” solid rib barrels that are choke marked VZ (IC) and ½ (Mod) but they measure .010” Light Mod and .018” Light Full. The coin finished frame is engraved with a dog and ducks on the left side and woodcock on the right side with scroll work on the bottom..the engraving is signed. The frame has a non-automatic safety and single selective trigger. The pistol grip buttstock and the 3-piece forearm were cut from a walnut that is nothing short of spectacular. The stock has a 14 ¼” LOP over the factory buttplate; 1 3/8” DAC and 2 ½” DAH with neutral cast. Condition wise the barrel blue, top lever blue and trigger guard blue is 99%+. The coin finished frame is 99%. The buttstock has a number of “vest rubs” or small “dents” that usually result from a right hand shooter raising the gun to shoulder. It comes in makers luggage case. Weighs 6 lbs. 12 oz. and balances perfectly between the hands.
