Description:
Considered by many to be the finest gunmaker that York produced. The Horsley gun-making business started in 1834 and the family operated the business until 1959. The Horsley's of York built guns that any man would be proud to own and their guns truly reflect the heritage of the past. The shotgun in question is a delightfully balanced and finished gun. It is a side-lock and the barrels have not been enlarged. The barrels are free from pitting and it is believed that the gun was made in 1916-1917. The gun has a splindered forearm, checked buttstock, #3390, proof 2 3/4”, 3 ¼ tons, bores at .729, all part numbers match, #1 of a matched pair. This gun was also has a fine sidelock that has been meticulously inspected by a Krieghoff gunsmith.
