This is a solid ,well used 1875 dated British Snider Cavalry Saddle Ring Carbine. It is Caliber. 577. Serial number # C853. Has a 2-piece cleaning Rod fitted in a trap in the butt plate. Has a flat hammer face. This is a fine example of usually hard used British SRCs. Standard configuration. Barrel is .19" with the Snider patent breech, brass mounted other than steel barrel. band. Rear sight is a ladder type to 600 yds. Very good overall condition. Barrel . retains strong traces of blued finish, overall mixed plum patina with staining & pitting. Breech retains strong traces of finish, as does lock with crisp markings including unit markings on buttplate tang. Stock is sound & well fit wwith sharp edges, minor chipping & numerous storage dings & dents. Mechanically fine with a bright shiny rifled bore. Buyer Pays $35.00 shipping to the lower 48 states.
