Here we present a Winchester Model 94 Lever Action Carbine in .25-35 WCF, made in 1922 in New Haven, Connecticut. The .25-35 WCF is still a great old cartridge, though when the Winchester Model 1894 was first introduced in this chambering it was on the cutting edge and still a very early smokeless powder cartridge. It was a small bore, .25 caliber bullet traveling about 2300 fps and it was paving the way for cartridges that would rely on velocity to kill rather than bullet size and diameter. This is still a great cartridge for varmints and even medium-sized game such as deer. The credit for the design of such a prolific firearm again lies with John Moses Browning, who lent his extensive design talents to a large number of weapon types throughout his career. The Model 1894 was the first Winchester rifle made for use with the new technology of smokeless powder and was developed as a hunting rifle. Over 7.5 million were produced from 1894 until 2006. While various cartridges were supported throughout the run of the gun, the .30-30 Winchester became its staple. In practical use, the Model 1894 became a favorite for general shooters and hunters alike. To this day, it remains a deer hunting favorite, and, in all likelihood, more deer have been taken with the 1894 than any other. This Model 94 carbine features a 20-inch round barrel chambered in .25-35 Winchester Center Fire. The overall condition is very good. Lots of blue finish remains. Nice grain in the walnut stock. The action is strong and crisp. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. A great Winchester from the Roaring Twenties that is still a great option for the field!
