Very Rare early made JIN Japanese Arisaka rifle,(??” - Made in Jin, The old Kingdom of Jin character was used as something of a formal name for Shanxi Province.) and a 31.5" barrel with a clean bore on this 6.5mm rifle, however the grooves have roughness from using wartime corrosive primers.Stock has typical war time dings, and scrapes, but nothing unusual. The metal is blue mixed with patina on the barrel, from handling in warfare!Action works good. Made at the JIN arsenal. SN 60159, with a bolt number 887, as well as the extractor. Hole drilled in fore stock for a rope sling.Never seen an Arisaka type 38 with these markings, not in the books.the hand guard also has a metal nose cap?Looks like thin sterling silver?
