"Rare J.R. Coopers Patent Percussion Rifle. .54 caliber breech loading. Breech opens by lifting the lock down lever which rolls the breech block up and to the left. The breech block has a conical shape to the front which when the lock down lever closes the cone moves forward to form a seal in breech of the barrel. Barrel is octagonal and is 26 ½" long. Bore is multi groove and is perfect. Breech block is marked “J.R. Coopers Patent Breech Loading No. 96". Lock is marked J.R. Cooper. Barrel has 90-95% Damascus pattern. Stock is excellent with fancy figure and excellent checkering. Barrel has a 3 leaf folding sight. Stock forend cap is ebony. Gun is in excellent condition.
