FIRST YEAR SMITH & WESSON HAND EJECTOR 1ST MODEL MILITARY & POLICE .38 S. & W. SPECIAL CAL. REVOLVER CIRCA 1902. 6 shot with 5” barrel marked “38 S. & W. SPECIAL CTG.”. All original and matching in the 12,xxx range. Earliest model with no ejector rod retaining block. Last patent date 1898. Early hard rubber grips with S. & W. logo. Excellent with 90% plus bright blue with some brown flaking. Has nearly all the case colors on the hammer and trigger. Good working order and excellent bore. 1902 was the year of introduction for the Smith & Wesson .38 Special cartridge. Scarce and historic.
