This is the first style trooper usually found in .38 Special or .357 Magnum caliber. Not many were made in .22 LR and fewer yet with the shorter 4” barrel. These are really hefty revolvers because they are indistinguishable on the outside from the larger caliber models. With small .22 caliber barrel and cylinder chambering, this is a fairly stout and stable revolver that holds remarkably well without being muzzle heavy. Like most 60+ year old .22 revolvers, this one has seen some light use, but no abuse. The grips are excellent and show only light wear. The Colt blue is still bright and shows only normal edge wear and some muzzle wear along with one tiny spot of rust pitting just above the left grip on the high edge of the back strap- hardly worth mentioning. Perfect bright bore, tight mechanics and wonderful 1950s trigger pull. The front face of the cylinder shows most of the blue remaining which indicates that this revolver was shot very little. A seldom seen model with loads of life left in it!
